What is food rescue?

Food rescue, also called food recovery, is the practice of gathering edible food that would otherwise go to waste from places such as restaurants, grocery stores, produce markets, or dining facilities and distributing it to youth, seniors, veterans, and other food programs.

“I have been doing this for over a year and have really enjoyed it. I have met many really nice and dedicated people. By picking up food, that was previously excess and unused, we are now providing nourishment for families in need.”
