Become a Food Donor
It’s simple and free to donate your surplus food
Food donors are the heart of Keep US Fed
We partner with food businesses throughout Montgomery County including national and local restaurants, caterers, grocery stores, hotels, and food donation drives. Pick-ups can be scheduled on a regular or as-needed basis.
Safety and Liability
We take food safety and liability very seriously at Keep US Fed.

By working with Restaurants and other commercial food supplies, Keep US Fed Montgomery County will pick up, at no cost to you, any type and quantity of food or beverage from your corporate kitchen, warehouse, or catered event site.
This will be delivered to a charitable organization that helps people experiencing food insecurity, again at no cost.
-
We cannot accept home cooked meals, meals that have been plated, or food from a self-serve buffet.
Our charity recipients have met our food handling and storage requirements, and have agreed to follow our guidelines.
All of our volunteers are food handler certified.

With the needs so great and billions of pounds of food getting wasted every year, the Federal Government passed legislation to encourage food donation and protect food donors from liability, when they donate in good faith, to nonprofits like Keep Us Fed.

Federal Law: The "Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act" of 1996 shields food donors from civil and criminal liability, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
